Getting started

Before you apply, make sure you:

• are a UK taxpayer aged over 18 and under 40 years old
• have your National Insurance number to hand
• have your UK bank or building society account details to hand
• have an email address that, ideally, isn't shared with anyone else
• are happy for us to check your identity, address and bank details.

With a Lifetime ISA application we carry out an online check with HMRC to make sure your name, date of birth and National Insurance number match.
